Yea!!! She is Officially Ours!

Today we went down to the court and finalized our adoption! Yea!! It has been quite the journey, but everything went smoothly, and we have the signed paper in hand. (Dee made reference to a song from Pete's Dragon afterward, and while I thought it was funny I wouldn't put it as the title of our blog post.)

I think that Mia was the youngest kiddo there, and we are so happy we could finalize so soon rather than wait six or more months. We almost didn't make it this morning. All three of us came down with colds, and fortunately Dee was much better today than yesterday. I took Mia to the doctor after court, and he said likely this cold will have to run its course- so not to worry.

Everyone at court was really nice. People were cooing at Mia and how cute she is. It must be the best court job, everyone is happy for you. Definitely the only reason you should ever have to go to court.

So now we are on the road to becoming our forever family. I just have to call the temple and set up a time to be sealed. (If you don't know what that means, feel free to email us and we can give you more info.)
We are so excited! We can't wait!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yea, Mia's first Valentines Day! Of course we had to get her dressed up for the occasion.

On another note, she is also starting to become a mover. In the picture below, in the matter of less than 30 seconds while I turned around, she moved from on her back under the play gym to the position she is in. Now I really need to vacuum so she doesn't eat any dust bunnies. And Dee will have to pick up his cords and/or any other electrical things he doesn't want slobbered on.

She is also giggly at the smallest things. Yesterday the word "Hi" did it for her. Who knows what it will be tomorrow. She gets a slow start, and I am a dork, but she is super cute.

3 Months!

Our little beauty is 3 months old! She keeps growing and learning every day.

She has become much more talkative, and she likes to tell us about her dreams in the morning and tells Dee about her day when he gets home from work. I tried to upload a video of her talking but blogger kept having errors:(

She is so playful and today was giggling at her Micky Mouse stuffed animal, and she loves having things to hold onto.

She wants to sit up so badly but still gets fatigued easily, so the Boppy pillow is her friend right now. I love when she gets that wide-eyed excited look.

And here are the pictures I eventually was able to take with her in her fluffy pink bottoms. They are still a little big for her.

And sleeping away to warm back up. After all, it is January and that few clothes can make a kiddo cold. Good thing we are in Arizona and it has been in the 70's during the day!

 Dressed up for the winter.

Uncle Danny came over to play and captured this one of her hanging out.

Happy New Year! & Our Christmas Report

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a great Christmas or winter break!

We have been having fun enjoying Dee's time off of work. Christmas was fun this year with Mia.

She was so tired from all the Christmas Eve festivities she didn't want to wake up, but when she did, she had presents waiting for her.

She knew something was different that day but wasn't quite sure what to think. She needed a little help to open her gifts.

We got all dressed up and headed to Christmas dinner at Carrie's parent's house.

Uncle Danny took more cute photos of her including the first one with all three of us.

After we all got home, she needed a break from the excitement and took a little cat nap.

She isn't asleep too long before she wants to play again.

This is how Dee likes to spend his breaks. Getting a well deserved rest. Actually he has been hard at work. He fixed our heater, and my treadmill, and organized things, and has been getting up to feed Mia early so I can sleep in a bit more. Does he really have to go back to work tomorrow? ... boo.

We wish you all the very best for this year! You never know what wonderful things will come. We never could have imagined a year ago that we would be holding our beautiful 2-month-old Mia.
Keep up hope for whatever your wishes are, they might just come true.

2 Months Old!

Our little girl keeps growing. If there is a way to freeze time let me know. So here are some updated photos.

She is getting so big. I put her in these clothes before her 2 month doctor appointment, and she totally looked like a toddler.

And just to prove she isn't happy all of the time. Here is her pouty face. She wasn't really in the mood to get dressed for church that morning.

Just taking a break from it all. Witness the "I don't want to nap, you can't make me close my eyes" stare.
